'Thunderbolts' tops global box office with $162 million haul ..'Hit 3' makes it into Top 10 list with $800K collection.

According to studio estimates, "Thunderbolts" from Marvel Studios opened with $76 million in domestic ticket sales on Sunday, beginning the summer box office with a strong No. 1 debut that fell short of Marvel's most spectacular launches.

Whether "Thunderbolts," a collaboration of antihero rejects akin to "Avengers," might return the Walt Disney Co. superhero factory to the kind of box office success the studio formerly routinely enjoyed was the focus of all the attention.

The outcome, which was comparable to the openings of "The Eternals" ($71 million) and "Ant-Man and the Wasp" ($75 million), indicated that Marvel wouldn't be so easily crushed.

Additionally, the movie made $162.1 million at the box office worldwide, of which $86.1 million came from foreign countries.

This global launch is within the range that was anticipated prior to the weekend. The Florence Pugh-led release debuted at the top of the charts in almost every major and most minor country. At current currency rates, its international debut is predicted to be 7% ahead of Guardians of the Galaxy, 13% ahead of Ant-Man, and 45% ahead of Shang-Chi in comparable regions (not including China).

The positive reviews for "Thunderbolts" had led some to anticipate a larger opening. In contrast to other previous MCU films, "Thunderbolts," which was directed by Jake Schreier and starred Florence Pugh, David Harbour, and Sebastian Stan, has received great reviews (88% fresh on Rotten Tomatoes). It received a "A-" CinemaScore from viewers.
