Blake Lively files formal lawsuit against Justin Baldoni, cites 'severe emotional distress'
Blake Lively has filed a formal lawsuit against her "It Ends With Us" co-star Justin Baldoni for sexual harassment.
The lawsuit, which moviemood90is was able to get, was filed in federal court in New York on Tuesday. It follows weeks after the "Gossip Girl" alumnus filed a complaint against Baldoni with the California Civil Rights Department that made headlines on December 21.
On the set of the highly anticipated movie adaptation of Colleen Hoover's New York Times bestseller, there were reports of a summertime animosity between the two.
The lawsuit echoes Lively's previous allegations in her complaint that Baldoni and Wayfarer Studios CEO Jamey Heath had inappropriate sexual relations both at work and outside of it.
The official suit and complaint also identify Baldoni's production firm, Wayfarer.
The formal case against Lively was filed on New Year's Eve, the same day that Baldoni filed a libel claim against The New York Times following the publication of Lively's accusations from the smear campaign.
Furthermore, according to the lawsuit filed on Tuesday, Lively "suffered, and continues to suffer, substantial damages" "as a direct, foreseeable, and proximate result of this unlawful discriminatory conduct" by Baldoni. Others are listed.
Included in the list of damages are "severe emotional distress and pain, humiliation, embarrassment, belittlement, frustration, and mental anguish," among other things. She "is entitled to an award of punitive damages, in an amount to be determined at trial."
