BBC ‘MasterChef’ Host Gregg Wallace Steps Aside As Producers Launch Investigation Into Historical Misconduct Allegations
In the midst of an investigation into past claims of misbehavior, Gregg Wallace has resigned as host of BBC MasterChef.
Following complaints about Wallace's behaviour to the BBC this week, MasterChef producer Banijay UK said in a statement that it was initiating the external review.
We believe it is important to launch an early, external review to thoroughly and impartially investigate, even though these complainants have not brought up the claims directly with our program producers or parent company Banijay UK, the firm stated.

Beyond the Banijay UK statement, Wallace declined to comment. The BBC1 series MasterChef: The Professionals is presently broadcasting and is anticipated to continue as usual.
Although Banijay and the BBC did not address the specifics of the accusations, this is not the first time he has faced accusations of misconduct.
He denied uttering "anything sexual" during the 2018 filming of the game show Impossible Celebrities last month. The Times of London revealed last year that Wallace resigned from the BBC series Inside the Factory due to remarks deemed unsuitable by female employees.
"Even though these are historical accusations, we thoroughly investigate and appropriately address instances where these expectations are not met."
