Erin Andrews responds to ageist comment that she's 'too old' for sportscaster role

Erin Andrews is no longer a rookie. She has demonstrated that she is still at the top of her game, in fact.

In a witty social media post earlier this week, the sportscaster—who is Fox Sports' NFL sideline reporter—reacted to online criticism of her aging.

After the news host interviewed Dallas Cowboys linebacker DeMarvion Overshown on Thanksgiving Day after the Cowboys' holiday game against the New York Giants, a social media user became obsessed with Andrews' physical attributes.

According to X user @MikefromManhat1, "Erin Andrews is too old now," posted on November 29. "The wrinkles on the HD are clearly visible. Erin has had a fantastic run, but a younger brunette or blonde should take over.

Andrews, 46, responded to the ageist comment in her own X post on Tuesday, seemingly unfazed. "Don't even think you need HD to see them," the single mother wrote. But thanks for pointing them out, buddy!"

According to Andrew's profile on Fox Sports' official website, the sports journalist and "Dancing with the Stars" alumnus joined Fox Sports in 2012 after working for ESPN for eight years. She covered college football, basketball, and hockey while she was at ESPN. She was also one of the hosts of ESPNU's "College GameDay."

Andrews has participated in some of the most significant events that Fox Sports has covered, such as three Super Bowls, ten NFC Championships, and the World Series/MLB All-Star Games in 2014 and 2015.

In 2022, Andrews received the Pat Summerall Award, a distinguished distinction created for the late sportscaster Pat Summerall, in recognition of her professional accomplishments.
